Our Fast of the Tenth of Tevet 5772 is over...
Back in the year 3336 from our Creation (425 BCE), the armies of the Babylonian emperor Nebuchadnezzar laid siege to Jerusalem. Thirty months later—on 9 Tammuz 3338—the city walls were breached, and on 9 Av of that year the Holy Temple was destroyed. As a result, the Jewish people were exiled to Babylonia for 70 years.
We fast, as a sign of repentance.
May G-d make us strong to learn our lessons so we don't repeat our mistakes over and over through centuries.
Aren't we supposed to be the most intelligent and evolved beings...?
Then it means we have exceptional potential and we must aim at using it to its fullest to fulfill G-d's Commandments.
G-d bless us with His Blessings of Wisdom and Strength.
